What We Believe

As a Church, the City of God Christian Centre primary objective is to propagate the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ through organised worship, prayers, Christian teaching, outreaches, creation of facilities for meeting / services, publications, the use of the media and any other means that is available to us.

As such the larger percentage of our funds is apportioned according to meeting this objective since our funds are largely raised from among members of our congregation whose primary concern is to see the spread of the gospel of Lord Jesus Christ. All other objectives are therefore considered as secondary, this will hope to also fulfil to the best of our ability  depending on the funds available as we consider these as part of our Christian service. 

The City Of God Christian Centre statement of faith.

We believe that the Bible (i.e. the old and New Testaments excluding the Apocrypha), is the 
inspired Word of God, the infallible, all sufficient rule for faith and practice. 

We believe in the unity of One True and Living God who is the Eternal, self-Existent “AM”, Who 
has also revealed Himself as One being co-existing in three Person- Father, Son and Holy Spirit 

We believe in the Virgin Birth, Sinless Life, Miraculous Ministry, Substitutionary Atoning Death, 
Bodily Resurrection, Triumphant Ascension and Intercession of the Lord Christ and in His 
personal, visible, bodily return in power and glory as the blessed hope of all believers 

We believe in the fall of man, who was created pure and upright, but fell by voluntary 
transgression. 

We believe in salvation through faith in Christ, who, according to the Scripture, died for our sins, 
was buried and was raised from the dead on the third day, and that through His Blood we have 
Redemption. 

This experience is also known as the new birth, and is an instantaneous and complete 
operation of the Holy Spirit upon initial faith in Lord Jesus Christ. 

We believe that all who have truly repented and believed in Christ as Lord and Saviour are 
commanded to be baptised by immersion in water. 

We believe in the baptism in the Holy Spirit as an endowment of the believer with power for 
service, the essential, biblical evidence of which is the speaking with other tongues as the Spirit 
gives utterance. 

We believe in the operation of the gifts of the Holy Spirit and the gifts of Christ in the Church 
today. 

We believe in holiness of life and conduct in obedience to the command of God 

We believe that deliverance from sickness, by Divine Healing is provided for in the Atonement 

We believe that all who have truly repented and believe in Christ as Lord and Saviour should 
regularly participate in Breaking of Bread. 

We believe in the marriage institution of a man and a woman. 

We believe in the doctrine of tithe and offering collection. 

We believe in the doctrine of heaven and hell. 

We believe in the second coming of Christ and in the millennium reign of Our Lord Jesus Christ. 

We believe in the call of God into the work of the ministry by prayer, fasting and the leading of 
the Holy Spirit through the leadership of the presbytery. 

We believe in the bodily resurrection of all men, the everlasting conscious bliss of all who truly 
believe in our Lord Jesus Christ and the everlasting conscious punishment of all whose names 
are not written in the Book of Life.
